Author Guidelines
This section provides the main guidelines to all authors who plan to submit their articles to the Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management for a possible publication.
a) Pre-Submission Stage
- Articles should be prepared in compliance with the submission standards of Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management before making the final submission. Articles which are not compliant with the Journal standards do not qualify for further steps of the publication process.
Manuscript Standards
- Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management applies manuscript standards to all articles submitted to the Journal. The standards regulate the length, structure, content and reference system of the articles.

Editing Services
- Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management provides editing services to the authors in order to facilitate their submission process as well as to increase the content quality of the submissions.
- Editing Services include Translation Services from Turkish to English, Linguistic Editing of English Language and Table/Picture Design Services.
- Requests for Editing Services can be made by sending an e-mail to Editing Services Center.
- Please note that Editing Services are outsourced services which do not bring any liability to the Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management for the works conducted by the outsourced editing service provider.
Originality Standards
- Articles submitted to the Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management require complying with originality standards of the Journal. Originality standards are set to protect original works from Verbatim Copying, Improper Paraphrasing, and Self-Plagiarism.

b) Submission Stage
Submitting to the Journal
- All authors who plan to submit an article should be registered authors of the Journal. Both submissions and respective status checks are possible only for registered authors.

Editorial Approval
- Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management applies a two staged review process. Submitted article is first reviewed by the Editor and if it is accepted for review process, are sent to two referees for double blind peer review.
c) Post-Submission Stage
Review Process
- Following the Editorial approval, article is sent to two referees for double blind peer review. Reviewers provide a final rating to the Editor in order to make the publication decision. In order to be accepted, an article should get qualifying ratings from both reviewers.
Final Submission
- Upon the successful completion of the review process, before making their final submission, Authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with the entire submission checklist.

Manuscript Standards
This section provides the manuscript standards applied to the articles submitted to the Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management for a possible publication.
Your article should be prepared in compliance with the following standards:
- Language: Articles submitted to the Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management should be in English language only.
- File Format: Articles should be submitted in Microsoft Word Format. PDF format is not acceptable.
- Article Length: Article length should be between 3.000 (min) and 5.000 (max) words including references, tables and appendices. Independent from the number of words, the maximum number of pages in the article is limited to 20.
- Article Title: Article title should contain 10 words at maximum.
- Abstract: An abstract should be prepared with a length of maximum 250 words. It should brief the reader upfront by providing the information in a structured format about main purpose, methodology, findings, originality and implications of the paper depending on the applicability of the criteria.
- Keywords: Keywords up to five, which are closely associated with the main area and content of the article, should be identified by the author.
- Classification: Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) classification numbering should be provided for the article related to economics, business administration and finance.
- Font Type, Size and Spacing: Articles submitted should be prepared by using Lucida Sans Unicode font with the size of 10 and single line spacing.
- Page Margins: Margin standards are applied as 5 cm on the top, 4 cm at the bottom, 3 cm from the right and left.
- Headings: Headings should be structured in a hierarchical format with the first level headings to be presented in bold and the lower rank headings should follow with italics. The sizes for first level headings and lower rank headings should be 12 and 10, respectively.
- Tables and Figures:All Tables and Figures (charts, diagrams, images, and screenshots) placed in the body of the article should contain Titles and Numbers (Table 1. Name of the Table or Figure 1. Name of the Figure) in a consecutive Arabic numerals for each type.
In addition to the version within the body of the article, all figures should be submitted in tif, .jpeg, or .bmp formats having at least 300dpi resolution with a dimension of minimum 10cm wide.
Tables and figures should be placed vertically in the page. If the tables and diagrams are full-page size they can be placed horizontally.
Equations should be aligned in the middle of the page and the numbers of the equations should be aligned to the right hand side of the page in parenthesis.
- References: Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management applies APA Style for the referencing and citation standards.

Author Bibliography
In a separate Microsoft Word document, author(s) should provide name(s) and surname(s), name(s) of the current institution(s), department name(s) and e mail address(es).
Originality Standards
Articles submitted to the Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management require complying with originality standards of the Journal. Originality standards are set to protect original works from Verbatim Copying, Improper Paraphrasing and Self-Plagiarism. Please read carefully the following explanations to get detailed information on the types of copyright breaching risks.
- Verbatim Copying: Verbatim Copying means taking a third party’s work word by word and implement it to the article without acknowledgment, quotation marks and/or references.
Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management do not tolerate any Verbatim Copying of significant passage or section of text of another person's work.
- Improper Paraphrasing: Paraphrasing becomes improper when the text of another person’s work has been modified and included into the manuscript by changing the structure of some paragraphs / sentences of the original work without acknowledgment, quotation marks and/or references.
Improper paraphrasing, which constitutes more than 10 % of the manuscript, is regarded as Verbatim Copying by the Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management.
- Self-Plagiarism: In academic terms Plagiarism is basically defined to use another’s work without crediting the source. Verbatim Copying and Improper Paraphrasing are two types of plagiarism.
In addition to Verbatim Copying and Improper Paraphrasing, Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management also do not tolerate Self-Plagiarism which is related with the usage of previously published work in the submission.
Thus, Verbatim copying of an author’s own work and paraphrasing is not acceptable by the Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management.
If some parts of the work submitted are previously published in any publication, it is required to acknowledge the earlier work.
Submission Process
Articles can be submitted to the Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management via the Submission Platform in the Journal Web Site. Submission Process is composed of two stages:
a) Registration to Journal:
In order to complete your registration to the Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management successfully, please take the following steps.
- Open registration form by clicking on the REGISTER section in the menu.
- Carefully fill in the Registration form (with co-authored articles, only the lead writer should register here as other writers will be registered in the mailing phase).
- When you receive confirmation e-mail including your username and password, follow the instructions in the message.
- Access the system with your username and password in order to submit your article.
- Click the link under Start a New Submission on Active Submissions page.
b) Submission Transaction:
In order to submit your manuscript to the Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management successfully, please complete take following five steps.
Step 1 - Start
- In this stage, Application Check List and Copyright Notice are checked.
- Please click the button “Save and Continue” to proceed to the next section.
Step 2 - Uploading Submission
- In this stage the article is uploaded to the system by following the instructions on the page. The article format should be Microsoft Word and should not be larger than 3 MB.
- Once the submission is uploaded, “Save and Continue” to proceed to the next section.
Step 3 - Entering the Submission's Metadata
In this stage the information related to the submission is entered into the system. There are some important points to be taken into consideration when providing the submission information. These points are the following:
- If it is a co-authored article, click Add Author button for each author and fill in the required fields.
- Enter Title and Abstract of Article.
- Fill in the Indexing Information.
Please note that all information provided should be in compliance with the Manuscript Standards of the Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management.
Please click the button “Save and Continue” to proceed to the next section.
Step 4 - Uploading Supplementary Files
- In this stage additional documents are uploaded to the system.
- After completing the inputting of “Supplementary File Metadata”, click “Save and Continue” to return to the main screen of Step 4.
- If there are additional documents to be submitted at this stage, the same above mentioned procedure should be applied for each supplementary document.
Step 5 - Confirming the Submission
- In this stage you can see the list of files submitted to the Journal.
- You can click “Finish Submission” to complete you submission transaction.
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- Originality Standards: This article has not been published elsewhere, nor has it been sent to a publisher for publication.
- Language: Manuscript is prepared in English language.
- File Format: The manuscript has been written in Microsoft Word format and does not exceed 3 MB size.
- Article Length: Article length is between 3.000 (min) and 5.000 (max) words including references, tables and appendices. Number of pages in the article is not more than 20.
- Article Title: The length of the Article Title is not more than 10 words.
- Abstract: The length of the abstract is not more than 250 words.
- Keywords: Maximum 5 keywords have been identified.
- Classification: JEL classification numbering has been provided (if required).
Font Type, Size and Spacing: Lucida Sans Unicode font with the size of 10 and single line spacing.
- Page Margins: Margin standards are applied as 5 cm on the top, 4 cm at the bottom, 3 cm from the right and left.
- Headings: First level headings are bold and the lower rank headings are italics. The sizes for first level headings and lower rank headings are 16 and 12, respectively.
- Tables and Figures: Tables and Figures contain Titles and Numbers.
Figures are in tif, .jpeg, or .bmp formats with at least 300dpi resolution and minimum 10cm wide.
- References: References are prepared in Harvard style.

Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management is licensed under a Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0).
All manuscripts which are submitted to the Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management should not be published, accepted and submitted for publication elsewhere.
In case an article is accepted for publication it is allowed to combine the articlewith other researches, to conduct a new research on the article or to make different arrangements on condition that the same license is used including the commercial purpose.
It is the author's responsibility to obtain signed permission from the copyright holder to use and reproduce text, illustrations, tables, etc., published previously in other Journals, electronic or print media. The signed permission letter must be submitted together with the signed cover letter. Authors are required to disclose any sponsorship or funding received from any institution relating to their research.
The authors retain the copyright of their work for all papers published in Journal of Industrial Policy and Technology Management. The authors' archiving rights are as follows:
- Submitted Version: It can be archived on personal web pages and institutional repository.
- Accepted Version: After publication, it can be archived on personal web pages and institutional repository.
- Published Version: After publication, it can be archived on personal web pages and institutional repository.
